Human Services Ethics: Case Resolution 8; Case Debate 9; Case Study 10; Individual Ethical Cases; Reflections on Learning; - Written Assignment

Case Number 8 Resolution-A Policy Disagreement with Colleagues

In respect to Karen's right to privacy, as a case worker facing this case ethical dilemmas every social worker are to look at Karen and his two little boys and see if they qualify for DSS service as proposed. However, it is a responsibility of a social worker to strive for clients, in this case Karen, to have a decent and stable home and manage to build this family’s dream future. NOHSE code on human service workers responsibilities to clients statement 2, states that “Human service professionals respect the integrity and welfare of the client at all times. Each client is treated with respect, acceptance, and dignity”, (Kenyon, P. (1999), page 63). However, Karen ambitions to improve her future life as it is described by Linda K. Lopez, MSW in Rothman (2005), and as a good prospective candidate for a transitional housing program because of her high school diploma and completion of a one year of college can be considered as starting point in the program.

The mission and objectives of the Metropolitan United Federation is to distribute money, funds, to a wide variety of social service/human service agencies that include programs for the elderly, children, substance abusers, homeless, disabled, mentally ill and many more. Reamer page 51 tells us that the purpose of the NASW code of ethics provides an impression of code’s main function and principle for dealing with ethical matters and or dilemmas while practicing social work. These ethics brings broad ethical principles and reflect the profession’s core values by establishing ethical standards to guide social worker professions. Also ethics assist professionals to identify significant professional obligations, when conflicts or ethical dilemmas arise; they emphasize social work values and ethics as a mission, whereby general public can hold the social worker profession responsible. Finally, these ethics and values formulate standards that the social work profession can use to asses whether professionals have act upon an ethical misconduct.

Part one, confidentiality:

I believe that NOHSE statement 3 that “Human Service professionals protect the clients’ right to privacy and confidentiality expect when such confidentiality would cause harm to the client or others, when agency guidelines state otherwise, or under other stated conditions. Professional are to inform clients of the limits of confidentiality prior to the onset of the helping relationship”, as per Kenyon, page 63, is ambiguous and problematic. This statement can serve the very best purpose of clients and Human Service organization, at the same time can infringe the very rights of clients and cause case worker to be considered not following state, federal, local and or organization policies.

Human Services Ethic: Principles of Ethical Decision Making

Preamble:
Human service as a social work profession is a widely developing field profession because of human deeds. Human needs are classified as unique because we are all unique, and we all use or need a unique ways to solve our problems. For sure no one has a formula to resolve all our problems, and to all of us, just like it is in the physics, chemistry or mathematics. But for sure we have a format that can be useful and applicable to some of us; since we are unique and requires unique approach to solve an individual ways, format cannot be applicable to all of us. However, it is in my attention that format of resolving our problems so as our clients’ is application of “ethical decision making” by relaying on ethical principles as are listed in the Kenyon text book page 7.

Human Services Ethic: Values Conflict Resolution Assessment (VCRA)

  1. I want to be very successful in my academics with a lot of experience in the Social Work/Human Service field; in order to work with national and international organization as an expert and self employed consultant. I also want to spend as much time as possible with my family and relatives and mostly I don’t want to leave them alone when I go oversees or traveling as my job involves a lot of traveling; and when I become self employed as a social worker consultant it will require to go live oversees for sometime, and leave my family here because I will be going to the disaster and broken communities and develop social policies.

THE CHAGGA PEOPLE OF MOSHI, THE LAND OF KILIMANJARO, TANZANIA [EAST-AFRICA]

My Grands, Uncles, Aunties, Cousins and Relatives, I was not born yet.
My grands, father, Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and Relatives, I was still not born yet.
Chagga Supreme Council, #7 is uncle and 1st cousin to my father, interesting!

CHAGGA people are Bantu-speaking indigenous Africans and the third largest ethnic group in Tanzania. They live on the southern and eastern slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro (the volcanic mountain that is the highest mountain in Africa and second highest mountain the world after mountain Evarest). Mount Kilimanjaro is in the Kilimanjaro Region, its capital is Moshi, the Chagga Land. The relative wealth of Chagga people comes from the favorable climate of the area, also from the successful agricultural methods which include extensive irrigation systems and continuous fertilization practiced for thousands of years. Chagga people are one of the first tribes in the area to convert to Christianity something that may have given them social-economic advantage over other ethnic groups, due to better access to education and health care as that came with Christian missionaries.

America The Great:

America The Great is always refereed to as “American Pie”, “Opportunity”, “Freedom", "Individual Liberty", "Pursue For Happiness”, “American Dream” and so many more. These terms and many more reefers to the greatest opportunities that began when pilgrims arrived in the New World, also known as West Indies, after bravely escaped the atrocities and ternary from their homeland, then fought the colonialist, and concurred them, the founders, established the pillars of the democracy that now used as model of  forming government and governing principles all over the world as the rule of law; equal justice for all, freedom, civil/human rights, democracy, liberty, and opportunity for all peoples without regard to someone’s religion, race, nationality, faith,  culture and gender. America is the most welcoming nation of all nations in the world, and certainly, most oppressed people by their home countries, are welcomed to America and call her home  while  equally enjoying all the opportunities she bares.
